Hi! I'm Ben.
I am a Master of Business Analytics candidate at UBC Sauder with a passion for turning complex data into actionable insights. Experienced in machine learning, data visualization, and large-scale data analysis through projects involving aviation, public safety, and marketplace data. I enjoy building analytical tools and dashboards that help organizations make better data-driven decisions.
My Story
My journey began in Taiwan, where I studied International Business at Soochow University. During my undergraduate years, I spent much of my time involved in my university’s dance club, eventually serving as club leader and organizing performances and competitions. Alongside school, I worked multiple part-time jobs, including as a teaching assistant at an English cram school and as a receptionist at a dance studio. These experiences helped me develop discipline, communication skills, and the confidence to take on leadership roles.
After graduating, I decided to step outside my comfort zone and explore the world independently. I self-funded a work-and-travel experience in the United States and later moved to Canada on a working holiday visa. Living abroad alone taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of taking risks to pursue new opportunities.
As I settled in Canada, I began exploring new interests and volunteered with organizations such as the Canadian Red Cross and BC Children’s Hospital. Through these experiences and my exposure to different industries, I became increasingly interested in how data and analytics can improve operations and support better decision-making.
This curiosity eventually led me to pursue a Master of Business Analytics at UBC Sauder. Today, I focus on using data to solve real-world problems, from predictive modeling to building dashboards that help organizations better understand and act on their data.
